Debriefing pt 1

701 Turner Street, Angel Falls, Autumn Heights District

It was earlier this spring when Destiny Tower was completed to compliment the already cluttered Angel Falls horizon. Even now that the site is open and filled with business clients very few know the true purpose behind this fifteen-hundred foot construction. The skyscraper itself was a cover for the sprawling underground base of Organization 52.

With Angel Falls becoming a hotbed of super human activity O52’s presence was requested by some residents with considerable political influence. The first Angel Falls assignment handled by this multi-national super-human task force turned into a near disaster. The detention of a young Super became complicated when she encountered two well known and powerful villains. During the struggle two O52 officers were killed along with five civilian casualties as a result of Astral’s out of control “Nova Reaction”.

Three days later O52 Operative Idol is about to give the final debriefing in a conference call to Commander Harrison. Entering the Com Chamber Idol sees a large monitor filled with images of several Angel Falls “questionable” subjects. A young woman standing near the monitor almost jumps out of her skin when surprised by Idol’s entrance.

Idol - Can I help you?

Veronica - Whew, you scared the hell out of me! Hi, I’m Veronica. Don’t think we’ve met. You’re Idol right? Heard a lot about you. Good things, I promise. Not as tall as I expected. Anyway, this is my first assignment with you guys. I have field training but will be handling in house IT for now. Everything is all set up for the conference, just waiting on Mr. H’s call. I was just studying the profiles of…

Idol - How many energy drinks have you put down this morning Veronica?

Veronica - Four. Oh, and one pot of coffee. I was just studying the profiles of some of the AF OQ PT’s. Are they all women?

Idol - (laughing)No, but they seem to have the population advantage.

Veronica - Hmm… kind of makes you stick out huh? I mean stand out. You know what I mean. Eek, there’s the boss now! Nice meeting you sir, should you need me for anything you can find me at the front terminal. Feel free to call me Roni. Bye Bye!

Veronica exits as quickly as she talks. The images on the monitor are replaced by the video feed of Commander Harrison.

Harrison - I see you’ve met Veronica. She’s quite energetic isn’t she?

Idol - Just a little. Good morning sir.

Harrison - Quite a day ahead of me here in France Steven so we’ll get this rolling if you don’t mind. You’re previous report as well as the one Stiletto gave will suffice but one matter that I still find puzzling is your exchange with Ultraviolet at the end. No offence Steven but her and Dark Star combined would have likely gotten the upper hand on you. Why did they just leave?

Idol - Ultrawom… Ultraviolet’s interest in the fight was Dark Star. It’s my opinion that once she discovered there would be no opposition in letting her go peacefully she thought it would be more tactful to leave the scene and study us and our activities further at a later date.

Harrison - You reported that your nullification abilities did not work on her at all. You know as much about the Organization as anyone, why didn’t she take what she needed straight from your mind?

Idol - She couldn’t sir.

Harrison - She couldn’t? This is a telepath far more powerful than others that have been successful against you in the past. Explain.

Idol - I’m all too familiar the sensations of having someone force their way through my brain against my will. The slight tickle followed by the feeling of being stabbed with a hundred needles paired with the look on her face was enough to tell me she wasn’t able to get far. Surface thoughts at the most. For that reason I’m an oddity to her now. She’ll either keep her distance or more likely seek me out for another attempt soon.

Harrison - Should that be the case you’ll need to be quite prepared. To assist you with that I’m sending four more Class S Operatives to Angel Falls. This city will probably become our focus for quite a while. Now if you’ll excuse me …

Idol - Harrison I know you’re in a hurry but I have a couple of questions.

Harrison - Okay, go ahead.

Idol - First off, what became of Astral?
